SPOTLIGHT SATURDAY - Joanne's Designs

"My love of jewelry started when I'd play dress up in mom's clothes and draping myself with sparkly things from gram's jewelry box as a kid. This began my love affair with anything sparkly, bright, chunky, or funky- beads, chains, leather- that finishes off an outfit.
Not being able to afford everything I wanted or being able to find exactly what I wanted, I began to try making my own jewelry. It is a great hobby, but it got out of hand!
I found better and less expensive places to get supplies and began beading stuff just to experiment. At this point I was swamped in jewelry. So I began making jewelry for everyone I knew. Finally family and friends suggested I sell what I made. I am not so keen on the selling part, so that's where Jen comes in.

She graciously shows much of my work in her friendly hair salon. Jen and her customers at The House of Hair have supported my beading addiction for the past 10 years for which I am very grateful. I still get to experiment with different styles and play with beads while Jen sells my creations. I Love it!"
